Apprenticeship Training

EC Electric actively participates in a Department of Labor/OATELS (formerly BAT) certified four-year electrical apprenticeship training program which is administered by Associated Builders and Contractors.

Each year EC Electric sponsors and pays for several apprentices to attend this classroom/OJT training program.

Several of our managers and foreman are certified instructors and frequently teach apprenticeship training classes sponsored by Associated Builders and Contractors, Western Colorado Chapter.

Continuing Training

EC Electric also provides in-house continuing and advanced skills training for all our journeyman and apprentices. This training is covered through 6 to 12 hour multi-session classroom modules covering specific topics and periodic “hands-on” workshops sessions. Topic examples include:

• • Grounding and Bonding
• • Manual and Hydraulic Pipe Bending
• • Electrical Math & Theory
• • Project Layout
• • Circuitry and Switching
• • Motor and Transformer Theory
• • National Electrical Code (NEC) Reviews and Updates

Supervisory / Management Training

Utilizing the knowledge and experience of outside resources and instructors, each member of our management team is encouraged to attend various training sessions and seminars geared toward strengthening their field supervision capability, management leadership and project management skills. Topic examples include:

• • Customer and Employee Relations
• • Project Specifications and Drawings
• • Time Management and Methods
